Closed Loop Galvanometer Applications

Cambridge Technology offers the most extensive line of closed loop galvanometer based optical scanners commercially available today! Whatever your application, Cambridge Technology has several price/performance options available to you. Our diversity of product and performance has enabled Cambridge Technology to become a recognized technology leader in all beam steering scanner-based applications including laser based materials processing, bio-medical systems, laser projection, semiconductor processing equipment, and imaging, inspection and fabrication.

Laser Material Processing

Manufacturers of laser marking, machining, drilling and welding systems have achieved new levels of marking speeds and precise laser processing performance in small and large beam diameter configurations using our moving magnet galvanometers with both the optical and capacitive position detector technology. Larger aperture drilling and welding applications are also supported by the extreme torque capabilities of our moving coil galvanometer based scanners.

Biomedical Systems

In the growing market of laser-based BioMedical applications, our moving magnet scanners offer the positioning accuracy, speed, size and cost that are ideal for compact, system designs used in dermatology, ophthalmology, confocal microscopy and analytical applications. The performance requirements in the most demanding surgical and analytical instrumentation are consistently exceeded by our broad line of capacitive position detector scanners offering micoradian levels of positioning accuracy.

Laser Projection

Laser projection for both industrial and entertainment markets have benefited for Cambridge Technology's galvo systems. The laser entertainment marketplace was revolutionized by the low inertia, high speed, high accuracy and compact size of the 62XX product line. Capable of sinusoidal frequencies up to 1.5kHz, our scanners have pushed display rates beyond 60K pps. The precision and speed of our line of moving magnet and moving coil optical scanners allow the extreme accuracy and pattern complexity of laser CAD projection for industrial fabrication, alignment and cutting applications.

Imaging and Printing

When very high resolution is the primary concern, applications in digital radiography and high resolution printing utilize our capacitive PD moving magnet and moving coil optical scanners for the maximum in repeatability and system resolution. This same level of positioning repeatability, resolution and stability is also achieved for our customers in material inspection and rapid prototyping.

Semiconductor Processing

To capitalize on marketing demands, our customers in micro-machining applications such as memory repair and laser trimming, as well as mask and wafer inspection applications depend on our products to consistently deliver very precise and stable positioning from scanner to scanner to scanner. Our quality in manufacturing leads to the high levels of performance uniformity and product reliability that our customers have come to expect from a Cambridge Technology galvanometer based scanner.
